global missions

The Missions Team of Hartford City Wesleyan Church takes seriously Christ's Great Commission's call to make disciples of all nations.. (Matt 28:18-20). The Hartford City Wesleyan Church Missions Team has a passion for missions and has a desire to inform, educate, and inspire our congregation regarding opportunities for a loving response to global needs in the name of Christ.

The Missions Team meets on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. Prayer is the cornerstone of the meetings, and specific aspects of the ministry are discussed, including caring for and supporting the HCWC Missionaries you see below:

Ministries dear to the Mission Team's Heart include:

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
This is a practical way to share the Christ's love with boys and girls around the world through a simple shoe box gift! This year, HCWC sent out over 115 boxes!

ANNUAL VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
In 2019, our VBS kids donated over $600 to support Wycliffe Bible Translators in their mission to get the Bible in every single language of the world!

ANTI HUMAN-TRAFFICKING
There are more slaves today than at any other time in human history.
The church cannot be silent on this issue! ("Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves." Proverbs 31:8)

One way to lessen our slavery footprint is by buying fair-trade items. One easy way to do this is by purchasing fair-trade coffee through the Mission Team's partnership with Just Love Coffee. Profits of each sale will go directly to the Missions Team and 100% of that will be donated to World Hope International in the fight against human trafficking. World Hope International actively rescues and rehabilitates human trafficking victims. Be a smarter consumer and fight human trafficking through your purchases!

LOVE IN ACTION

Hartford City Wesleyan Church exists not only to build up and disciple those within the church, but also to reach out to those not inside the church. We do this by going into the community to meet the needs of the Blackford County area. We recognize that we have been given a love we did nothing to earn by Jesus and that our call is to love others in the same way we have been loved. We do this by not only praying for others, but also serving them, we call this service: Love in Action.

Some of the ways we do this is by standing with Hope House, Helping Hands Pregnancy Resource Center, Annual Car & Motorcycle Show, 2nd Chance Clothing Give Away, Jail Ministry, LifeChain, and the Salvation Army.
